Eddie and Candace enjoying their crias at Fireball Alpacas.
When Eddie and Candace Van Hout first entered the alpaca industry opening Fireball Alpacas in 2011, it soon became apparent that there was a tremendous need for additional fiber mills in the western part of our country. Not finding the quality craftsmanship they were looking for in the west, the Van Hout’s shipped their alpaca fiber across the country for processing in Ohio. Well, that didn’t make much sense. The shipping costs were exorbitant taking away profits from their bottom line yarn sales.
As things happen in life, an opportunity presented itself to purchase a fiber mill and Eddie and Candace were on it! They knew this was their destiny and to be honest, a God thing that could not be ignored. One year later, after wrangling up the funds, I MAKE YARN is now open and twisting up delights six days a week.
